Getting married in Kosovo from abroad: the bridal plan, from first message to the big day

The short answer: message us as soon as you have the wedding date, especially if it falls between June and August. The makeup and hair trial happens in your first days after you arrive, the skin is prepared 2 to 4 days before the wedding, and on the day itself only the hairstyle and makeup are done. Bridal makeup costs 100 € and the bridal hairstyle 100 €, with the trial included.

A wedding in Kosovo has its own rhythm. A big family, traditional evenings, often two looks in one wedding, and a summer when half the diaspora comes home in the same few weeks. For a bride who lives abroad, that means one thing: the big decisions are made before you get on the plane or into the car.

Kosovo bridal makeup and hair: what to book from abroad

In summer, wedding weekends fill up weeks ahead, and July and August dates go first. So do not wait until you land to look for a salon. One message is enough to book:

• Bridal makeup and hairstyle for the wedding day.
• The trial, on a day when you are already in Pristina.
• A hair color refresh, if you want one.
• A skin treatment a few days before the wedding.
• Appointments for your mother, mother-in-law, sisters and friends, if they are getting ready with us too.

How the trial works when you live abroad

Ideally the trial happens a few weeks before the wedding. For brides from the diaspora that is rarely possible, and that is fine. The trial takes place in your first days after you arrive, or a few days before the wedding if you come late. What matters is that it is not the day before, so there is time to adjust.

The rest we prepare from a distance. Send us on WhatsApp two or three photos of the look you want, photos of the dress or the dimija, and a photo of your hair as it is now, in daylight. Besire tells you early whether the style will hold on your hair's length and thickness, so nothing surprises you at the trial. After the trial we note the shades and products, so everything is repeated exactly on the day.

The timeline around the wedding

If you arrive less than a week before the wedding, we do the color in your first days and the trial a little later, so the hairstyle is tested on the new color. Send us your dates and we work out the right order.

Dimija or the white dress

Many brides in Kosovo have two looks: the dimija for the traditional part and the white dress for the wedding. When the dimija is worn varies by family and by region. Often it is the henna night or part of the wedding day. Ask your family early, because it changes the hair plan.

The whole family gets ready too

At a Kosovo wedding the bride is rarely the only one getting ready. Mothers, the mother-in-law, sisters and cousins all want to be ready at the same hour. For guests, makeup costs 25 € and a hairstyle 25 €, and there is a separate guide on hairstyles for the wedding family. If the engagement is in Kosovo too

Some couples hold the engagement in Kosovo with the family, on the same trip as the wedding or on an earlier visit. For the engagement, the bride-to-be's makeup and hair are 100 € each, with a trial beforehand, and the standard prices apply for friends. If the engagement and the wedding fall in the same weeks, send us both dates at once.
