A natural blow-dry is what many women book before a wedding, a dinner or simply a Friday night. Here is what it actually is, how it compares with a straight blow-dry or a blowout, and how to keep the shape until the next day.
The short answer: a natural blow-dry is done with a round brush and gives the hair lift at the roots and soft movement at the ends, without pulling it completely flat like a straight blow-dry. At B&B Elegance it costs from 15 €, wash included. It usually holds all day, and with a little care often until the next morning.
Plenty of clients want smooth hair that still has body. That is the gap a natural blow-dry fills. The hair looks as if it fell into place by itself, only with more volume, more shine and ends that sit well.
In everyday English the two words often mean the same thing. When people do draw a line, a blow-dry is simply drying the hair with a dryer, while a blowout is a styled finish: washed, sectioned and shaped with a brush so it keeps its form. By that definition, both our blow-drys are blowouts. The real choice at the salon is the finish you want.

“From” means very long or very thick hair takes more time. You will find both on our haircut and blow-dry page.
With ends turned in, the hair curves toward the face. It looks neat and classic and suits a bob or shoulder-length hair very well. With ends flipped out, the hair curves away from the face. The look is looser and younger, and it opens up the face.
Neither is wrong. It depends on your cut and on how your hair grows. Besire, who has worked with hair for more than 20 years, can tell you in the chair which shape will hold better on your hair. A mix is common too: flipped out at the front, turned in at the back.
A natural blow-dry looks soft and moves with you, which is why it works so well for dinners, engagements and smaller celebrations. If you will be dancing for hours, or you want defined curls or a style pinned up and away from the neck, an event hairstyle is the safer choice. It costs 25 €. Send us the occasion and we will tell you which of the two makes sense.
Naturally curly hair comes out smoother after a natural blow-dry but keeps some of its movement. Humidity pulls it back to its natural pattern faster, so aftercare matters even more for this hair type.
Short hair takes a natural blow-dry very well, often better than long hair, because the roots lift easily. On a bob or a pixie the work is mostly about volume on top and the direction of the ends around the face. If your hair is fine and falls flat quickly, read our guide on fine hair and volume.
Under normal conditions it holds all day and into the evening. With a little care it often lasts until the next day. Two things undo it faster than anything else: humidity and sleep.
More night-time tips are in our guide to protecting your hair while you sleep.
At our salon a straight blow-dry starts from 10 € and a natural blow-dry from 15 €, both with a wash. A haircut is 15 €. If you need a trim as well, do it a day or two before your event, because a fresh shape makes any blow-dry look better.
We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00. Fridays and Saturdays fill up faster than the rest of the week, especially in wedding and engagement season. If you have an event, book a few days ahead and pick a time that leaves you room to get dressed without touching your hair.
The salon is on Rr. Jakov Xoxa, in the Muharrem Fejza area of Pristina. Message us on WhatsApp or Viber with the day you need, whether you want a natural or a straight blow-dry, and a photo of a shape you like if you have one. We confirm the time and your hair is ready for the evening.
