Last year's edition: Shatir hair 2026: styles and colours
Shatir goes into 2027 as one of the most requested colour techniques in Pristina. The blend stays soft, but the base is getting darker and the ends warmer. Here is what the first forecasts say, which version suits whom and what it costs with us.
The short answer: shatir hair in 2027 keeps the soft blend of 2026 with one change, a deeper base and warmer ends, for example espresso brown melting into caramel or cinnamon. The light around the face stays. At B&B Elegance, shatir and ombre cost from 120 €, depending on the length of your hair.
Shatir is the word used in Kosovo for a gradual lightening of the hair. The root stays close to your natural colour, while the lengths and ends get lighter step by step, with no hard line. It is close to ombre, but the transition usually starts higher and blends more softly. If you grew up in Kosovo or in the diaspora, you have probably heard it in the salon chair more often than the word ombre.
To be straight about it: in October 2026, proper forecasts for 2027 are still thin. Next year's trends usually come out in spring. What we have are the autumn and winter 2026 reports and the coverage of ombre's comeback, which started in 2025.
UK beauty press described ombre as returning after roughly a decade out of fashion. The new version is softer: a brown or chocolate base melting into cinnamon, caramel or creamy blonde, often with brighter pieces around the face and a very long transition. Some writers call it "sombre", a subtler ombre. German reports say the same: less contrast, more warmth. The practical reason comes up everywhere. A darker root lets you go longer between touch ups. Shatir works on exactly that logic, so this is good news for it.
What we wrote in shatir hair 2026 still applies: a long transition, warm tones and light around the face. Icy blondes and hard contrast are not coming back.
The change comes from hair colour trends in general. The autumn 2026 reports show deeper browns, like espresso, and warmer reds. For shatir that means a base left darker and glossier, and ends that do not have to go blonde. In 2026 a typical shatir finished in honey. For 2027 you will see caramel, cinnamon or soft copper ends more often.
These are general directions. Which tone suits you depends on your base colour and your skin, and we look at that together in the salon.
Shatir works best on natural brown or dark hair, because the move towards lighter ends shows clearly. It suits long and medium hair. On very short hair the transition has no room to show.
If you have old colour, henna or damaged ends, the plan changes, and sometimes the result takes two sessions. Besire, who has worked with hair for more than 20 years, tells you this before the work starts. The espresso base needs one extra word of caution: if you are blonde today, taking the root back to dark brown needs its own plan.
In photos the three look alike. With balayage the colour is hand painted section by section and looks sun lightened. Ombre places the transition lower and makes it stronger. Shatir sits between the two. The 2027 direction, a dark base with warm ends, works for all three, but shatir and ombre keep the natural root better. The full comparison is in our guide balayage, ombre or shatir.
Shatir and ombre currently cost from 120 €. The final price depends on the length and density of your hair and on the colour you come in with. Balayage starts from 140 € and full colour costs 40 €. If you choose an espresso base, the base colour and the shatir follow the plan Besire gives you after she has seen your hair. Every price is on our services and prices page.
