Hair guide
Half of a good balayage happens before you sit in the chair: the right photo, an honest history of the hair and accurate expectations. Here is the full list, step by step.
The short list: come with hair washed one or two days before, not that morning; bring reference photos; mention every old coloring, even home ones; and leave enough time, because balayage is not a half-hour job. Below each step explained.
Washing. Hair washed one to two days before is ideal. The light natural oil protects the scalp during lightening, while very dirty hair makes it harder to separate the sections.
The reference photo. Choose two or three photos, not fifteen. More important than the exact model is the light: look for photos in natural light, not with filters. And remember that the photo shows the wish, your hair sets the path.
The hair's history. Henna, home coloring, keratin and old lightening completely change the work plan. None of this is a problem if we know beforehand. It only becomes a problem when it is discovered in the chair.
Time. Do not squeeze the appointment between two errands. Balayage worked by hand needs its own time, and rushing is the one real enemy of this technique.
The visit starts with a conversation, not a brush. Besire looks at your hair, compares it with the photo and tells you openly: what comes out today, what needs a second session and what does not suit your hair type at all. Then the lightening is painted by hand and finished with toning, so the ends do not stay yellow.
The full long-term care, with the most common mistakes we see in clients, is in the guide on caring for colored hair.
"Does it damage the hair?" Lightening is a chemical process and the hair feels it. The difference between a balayage that tires the hair and one that destroys it lies in the hand that decides how long the product stays and when to stop. That is exactly what you buy when you choose experience: not the look of the first day, but the state of the hair in the sixth month.
